Another WE summary

Hoping to manage to tell the story in a different way. Elise has been much faster than me for writing her blog (alsmot reporting live from the week end).

Spring is coming to New York, with an amazing 22°C on Friday: it was the first day we could really enjoy the terrace and have a nice lunch in the sun... This terrace is a blessing. The snow trip from 7 days way seems like years ago...

On Saturday, the sunny weather also made us visit another part of New York: the ultra trendy Meatpacking district, with its popular restaurants like Pastis and Spice market. What is funny is that it's half super chic boutiques and bars, half traditional smelly warehouses.
The more you go west towords the river, the dirtier it gets...
At the West End of meatpacking district is the "nomadic museum", home of the much advertised "Ashes & Snow" exhibition.
This is probably the most beautiful photographic exhibition I have ever seen. Pure beauty, real artistic work. It took 10 years full time for the artist to achieve it.
And the museum itself is a piece of art made of a metallic strucutre, pebble rocks and standard transport containers. The whole museum can actually be transported to any port of the world...
The theme is the relationship between Human and Animals, and centered about the idea that man is like every other animal, i.e part of nature.
Very interesting even if it sounds like crappy new edge thingy, and alsorelaxing with a nice setting, well picked music, a few dozen photos and a 1hr movie. The exhibition is indeed popular, we took the right decision by coming early...

  • Salut JN
J'ai pu visiter l'expo grâce à toi, c'est plutôt sympa. Sais tu si l'expo viendra en France ?
    A+
